Objectives

- Coloured pencils or crayons

Lesson Outline
1. Introduction (5 Minutes)
- Welcome the students and explain the importance of understanding oneself.
- Icebreaker Activity: Play a short song about friendship or self-identity while students draw or write their names on the board.
- Engagement Question: Ask, “What makes you, YOU?” to spark quick brainstorming.
2. Discussion (10 Minutes)
- Personal Qualities: Facilitate a brief discussion about what personal qualities are (e.g., kind, funny, creative).
- Write students’ responses on the whiteboard as examples.
- Interests and Hobbies: Ask each student to share one hobby or interest.
- Highlight the diversity of interests in the classroom.
- Self-Identity: Discuss how these qualities and interests make us unique.
3. Activity: My Personal Poster (10 Minutes)
- Instructions: Distribute A4 paper and colouring materials. Instruct students to create a personal poster that includes:
- Their name
- At least three personal qualities
- Two hobbies or interests
- A drawing or collage representing themselves (e.g., favourite animals, food, colours).
- Encourage creativity: Remind students that there is no right or wrong in how they portray themselves.
4. Sharing Session (5 Minutes)
- Gallery Walk: Invite students to display their posters around the classroom.
- Sharing: Allow students to walk around and look at each other’s posters.
- Voluntary Sharing: Invite students to share their posters with the class if they feel comfortable.
Conclusion (5 Minutes)
- Recap the Lesson: Reinforce the idea that everyone is unique and valuable.
- Encouragement: Remind students that it’s important to embrace their individuality and appreciate others’ differences.
- Closing Activity: Ask students to turn to a partner and share one new thing they learned about someone else.
