“Bonjour, les enfants!”
Introduce the topic of the calendar by asking questions:
- “Quel jour sommes-nous aujourd'hui?” (What day is it today?)
- “Quel mois sommes-nous?” (What month is it?)
Use a large printed calendar to help students visualise.

Introduce the days of the week in French:
- lundi (Monday)
- mardi (Tuesday)
- mercredi (Wednesday)

-
Use flashcards to visually represent each day.

Teach the pronunciation and ask the students to repeat after you.

4. Review and Wrap-up (5 minutes)
Conduct a quick review:
- Ask students to share one day of the week and one month of the year in French.
- Use the whiteboard to write these down as students call them out.
Encourage students to practice saying the days and months at home.
Assessment
- Observe students during games to assess verbal recognition of vocabulary.
- Check students' engagement levels and willingness to participate.
Homework
- Ask students to draw their own mini calendar and label one day and one month in French. This will reinforce learning and involve them creatively.
End of Lesson Plan
Encourage students to continue practising by asking them how to say the current day and month daily in French!
