To kick-off our lesson, I have a Mystery Bag filled with some delightful surprises! 🎒👀
Inside this bag, I have a collection of colourful pairs of socks. That's right, each pair has two socks!
Gather Around: I want everyone to come and sit in a circle around me as I open this exciting bag.
Explore and Count: As I take out each pair of socks, let’s count together! When I pull out one pair, we’ll shout out, "One pair of socks!" and then we will find out how many socks there are in total.
Join the Fun: Now, for some fun! For every pair I pull out, I want you to count along with me in 2s.
For example:
After we've counted a few pairs, we can play a little game. I want you to look around the classroom. Can you find things that come in pairs? Maybe you can spot shoes under the desks, or pencil cases? We will count these pairs in 2s together as a class!
