Hello, Year 3! Today, we're going to embark on an exciting adventure into the world of shapes. Are you ready?
To kick off our lesson, I want you to imagine that you are a Shape Detective! Your mission today is to explore the classroom and find different shapes hidden all around you. We will be looking for some common shapes: circles, squares, rectangles, and triangles.
Grab Your Detective Notepad: Each of you will receive a piece of paper where you can draw and name the shapes you discover.
Shape Investigation: Take a few minutes to search the classroom. Look at the things around you, such as windows, chairs, and even your own lunch boxes!
Draw and Label: As you find each shape, draw it on your notepad and write down its name. Don't forget to count how many shapes of each type you can find!
Once we’ve completed our detective mission, we will gather back as a class. Each of you will share one shape you found and where you saw it. Let's see how many shapes we can discover together!
Shapes are all around us, and they help us understand the world better. They can be found in art, buildings, and nature! By being skilled Shape Detectives, we will become experts at identifying shapes and understanding their properties.
Let’s get started on our shape hunt! Remember, keep your eyes open and let your detective instincts guide you!
By the end of this lesson, you will not only have fun but also learn about the different shapes and how they form part of our everyday lives. Let's go shape hunting!
