Hello Class 3! Are you ready for an exciting adventure? Today, we're going on a Magic Treasure Hunt that involves addition! But before we start our treasure hunt, let’s get into the spirit of the adventure with a little story.
Once upon a time in a land filled with bright colours and enchanting creatures, there was a clever rabbit named Ruby who loved solving puzzles. One sunny day, Ruby discovered a mysterious map that led to a buried treasure! But there was a catch: Ruby needed to solve some addition problems to unlock the treasure chest!
Now, students, just like Ruby, you are treasure hunters today! Each addition problem is a clue that will bring us closer to our magical treasure.
Treasure Map Creation: We'll create our very own treasure maps! Each of you will draw a simple map on your paper with different locations marked on it (like 'Tree', 'River', 'Mountain', and 'Cave').
Addition Clues: I will give you the first addition problem, which will tell you how many steps you take to reach each location on your treasure map.
For example: If the problem is 3 + 2, you will take 5 steps to the 'Tree' on your map!
Group Activity: Once we have a few problems solved together, we’ll work in small groups to create additional clues for each other using simple addition sums.
Clue: If we find 4 sparkling diamonds at the 'River' and then discover 3 more, how many diamonds do we have now?
Solution: 4 + 3 = 7 diamonds!
By the end of this lesson, not only will we solve the addition puzzles to unlock the treasure, but you will also become addition wizards! So, grab your pencils, get ready to brainstorm those addition clues, and let's embark on this magical journey together!
Are you excited? Let’s find that treasure! 🗺️✨
