Welcome to Dragon Math Adventure!

Introduction

🎉 Hello, Little Explorers! 🎉

Today, we are going on a magical journey into the world of dragons and numbers! Are you ready to meet some friendly dragons while we learn about shapes, counting, and much more? Let’s get our dragon helmets on and prepare for an adventure filled with fun and learning!

💭 Set the Scene!

Storytime: The Magic Dragon Meet

Gather around, little ones! 🐉 Once upon a time, in a land full of colourful dragons, there lived a Wise Old Dragon named Draco. Draco loved numbers and shapes. He would often invite the little dragons to his cave to learn how to count and play with shapes. Today, we are going to help Draco with his number games!

🧙‍♂️ Activity: Count the Dragon Eggs!

Materials Needed:

Instructions:

  1. Introduce the Dragon Eggs: Show the children the colourful dragon eggs. Tell them these are magical eggs that the little dragons lay!

  2. Counting Together: Ask the children to help you count the eggs as they put them in the basket. Hold up a number card and ask them to add that many eggs to the basket.

    • Example: "Can we add 3 eggs? Let's count together!"

🎶 Dancing Dragons!

Fun Shape Dance

After counting, let’s shake our bodies with a Dragon Dance! 🕺💃

  1. Shape Formation: Tell the children that Draco loves different shapes!
  2. Shape Call-Out: Call out shapes like circle, triangle, or square and show the children how to move their bodies into those shapes.
    • Example: "Can you make a circle with your arms like a dragon's belly?"

🐉 Conclusion: Share with Draco!

After our adventures, let’s make a special card for Draco! On your card, draw your favourite dragon and write down how many dragon eggs we counted together. When we’re done, we’ll place the cards in our “Dragon Mailbox” to send to Draco!

Wrap-Up Questions:

🎨 Wrap-Up Activity: Colour the Dragon!

As a closing activity, let’s colour a big picture of Draco the Wise Dragon! You can use any colours you like and remember to add lots of sparkles - because Draco loves sparkles!

Thank you for joining our Dragon Math Adventure today! Remember, numbers are magic just like dragons!
