The Year/Grade 2 Spanish course is designed for students who have little to no experience with the Spanish language. The course is intended to help students develop their basic skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing Spanish.
Goal
By the end of the course, students will be able to communicate effectively in Spanish, using simple vocabulary and basic grammatical structures.
Aim
The course aims to provide students with:
- An introduction to the Spanish language and culture
- Basic vocabulary and phrases for daily communication
- Grammatical structures to form simple sentences
- Pronunciation and comprehension of the Spanish language
- Familiarity with basic Spanish customs and traditions
Course Outline
Module 1 (Lessons 1-6)
Introduction to the Spanish language
- Greetings and introductions
- Basic Spanish pronunciation
- Learn basic vocabulary related to family and friends
- Basic sentence structures for simple communication
Module 2 (Lessons 7-12)
Colors and Numbers
- Vocabulary for colors and numbers
- Counting from 1-100
- Forming basic sentences with colors and numbers
Module 3 (Lessons 13-18)
School Life
- Vocabulary related to school supplies and activities
- Basic conversation skills for school
- Grammar rules related to verbs, pronouns and articles.
Module 4 (Lessons 19-24)
Food and Drink
- Vocabulary related to food and drink
- Basic conversation skills for ordering and paying in a restaurant
- Introduction to basic grammar structures such as nouns, adjectives and adverbs
Module 5 (Lessons 25-30)
Hobbies and Interests
- Learn basic vocabulary related to sports and hobbies
- Basic conversation skills related to hobbies and interests
- Develop understanding of basic verbs and tenses
Module 6 (Lessons 31-36)
Family and Home
- Vocabulary related to family and home
- Basic conversation skills for talking about family and home
- Basic reading comprehension skills
The course will comprise of 36 lessons delivered over a period of 8 months. Each lesson will last for approximately 45 minutes,aimed at keeping the students engaged in the learning process. Each module will build on the previous one, to give the students a holistic and well-rounded knowledge of the Spanish language.
