The Challenge

Before we can find the treasure, Captain Count needs our help! He must figure out how many magical plants are standing between him and the treasure. Can you help him add the trees and flowers together?

Here's how we can do it:

• Trees (🌳): 3
• Flowers (🌸): 5

Let’s Count!

1. How many trees do we have? 1, 2, 3! 🌳🌳🌳
2. How many flowers do we have? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5! 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸

The Big Question

Now, let’s add them together! We have 3 trees and 5 flowers. How many magical plants are there in total?

Activity: Magic Finger Counting

1. Take one hand and hold up 3 fingers.
2. Now, take your other hand and hold up 5 fingers.
3. Let’s count all the fingers together! 1, 2, 3 (from the first hand) and then 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 (from the second hand)!
