Hello, Year 4! Today, we're going to flip, tumble, and balance our way into the exciting world of gymnastics! To kick off our lesson, we’re going to do something a bit different and fun. Are you ready?
Gather in a circle on the mat. Each of you will contribute a sentence to create a story about a magical gymnastics adventure. The catch? Your sentence must include a gymnastics move, such as a forward roll, cartwheel, or balance beam step.
Example: “Once upon a time, in a land where everyone could jump as high as clouds, a brave gymnast did a perfect cartwheel to save the day!”
Instructions:
After we finish our story, let’s transition into some gentle stretching. Just like in gymnastics, we need to make sure our bodies are warm and flexible. As we stretch, let’s remember to take deep breaths, filling our lungs, just as a gymnast prepares before a big performance.
Once we're warmed up and our story is complete, we'll connect our adventure to today’s gymnastics lesson! Let’s identify some of the gymnastics moves we will learn about and practice today. We’ll build on the creativity from our story and work on making it come to life with our bodies!
Let’s get started and turn our imaginations into action! Are you excited?
Remember: Gymnastics is not just about flipping and tumbling; it’s also about creativity, confidence, and fun! Let’s make today a fantastic gymnastics journey together!
