To kick off our lesson, let's engage in a short brainstorming activity. Find a partner and take five minutes to discuss the following questions:

• What emotions do you associate with paper? Is it fragile, versatile, or something else?
• Think of a memorable experience involving paper. This could be folding origami as a child, crafting a pop-up card, or even tearing paper for a project.

After your discussion, each pair will share one word that captures the essence of paper for you. We'll compile a word cloud on the board, illustrating our collective feelings about this beautiful material.

The Heart of Paper Sculpture

Once we have our word cloud, I’ll introduce you to the history and significance of paper sculpture. We’ll look at artists who have pushed the boundaries of this art form, ranging from simple origami to complex, layered designs that seem to defy gravity.

Consider the following artists as we discuss their work:
