Kia ora, tamariki! Today, we are going to embark on an exciting mathematical journey. We'll explore the world of numbers through a fun little story! Are you ready to help our characters solve a number mystery? Let’s jump in!
Once upon a time, in a sunny orchard, there were five happy apples hanging from a tree. They were bright red and super shiny, and they loved to play together.
One day, as the apples were laughing and playing, a gentle breeze blew through the orchard. Whoosh! The wind was so strong that it caused one little apple to tumble down to the ground.
That's right! There are four apples left on the tree!
Just then, a curious squirrel popped out from behind the bushes. The squirrel loved apples and wanted to help. "I can pick the apple from the ground!" said the squirrel.
After picking up the fallen apple, the squirrel placed it back onto the tree with its friends.
Let's count together!
That's right! We have all five apples back on the tree!
Well done, tamariki! You've helped the apples and their new friend, the squirrel, solve their number mystery. Remember, numbers are all around us, and we can create stories with them every day!
Let’s finish our lesson by drawing our favourite apple or maybe even the squirrel!
Grab your crayons and paper, and let’s illustrate our own number story!
