Imagine a peaceful town where each house is uniquely numbered. One morning, the townsfolk woke up to a bewildering situation: several house numbers had mysteriously vanished overnight! Without these numbers, the mail, deliveries, and even emergency services are thrown into chaos.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to investigate the disappearance of these numbers and restore order to the town.
Group Discussion: Start with a quick chat about how numbers are used in everyday life. Why are they important? What chaos would ensue if we didn't have our numbers?
Present the Mystery: Explain the scenario of the missing house numbers. Describe how some numbers are crucial for the functionality of the town. Make it engaging by asking, "What would happen if your house number disappeared?"
Number Sleuths: Divide the class into small groups and hand out the printed ‘Missing Number’ cards. Each group will receive a different set of numbers that have disappeared.
