Imagine that we're in a magical ice cream parlour called "La Crème Glacée", a charming little shop filled with delicious flavours and wonderful treats. The walls are painted in pastel colours, and there's a huge glass display filled with all types of ice cream: from chocolate to fraises (strawberry), and even menthe (mint)!

Activity: Mystery Ice Cream Flavours

1. Ice Cream Flavour Flashcards:

   • I will show you flashcards of different ice cream flavours in both French and English. For example:
     • Vanille (Vanilla)
     • Chocolat (Chocolate)
     • Fraise (Strawberry)
     • Menthe (Mint)

2. Guess the Flavour:

   • I will describe a flavour in French, and you will have to guess what it is! For example, if I say "C'est sucré et c'est de couleur rose," you would guess Fraise!

Let’s Get Ready to Order!

Now, let's think about how to order an ice cream in French. When you enter "La Crème Glacée," you will greet the seller. Here's a simple dialogue we will practice:

• Customer: Bonjour! Je voudrais un cornet, s'il vous plaît! (Hello! I would like a cone, please!)
• Server: Quelle saveur? (What flavour?)
• Customer: Je voudrais de la vanille, s'il vous plaît! (I would like vanilla, please!)

Mini Role Play

Now it’s your turn! Pair up with a partner. One of you will be the serveur (server) and the other will be the client (customer).

• Use the phrases we've just learned and create your own ice cream orders!
• Don’t forget to switch roles so everyone gets a chance to practise.
