Hello, Class! Today, we are going to embark on a magical journey into the celebration of Raksha Bandhan. It’s a wonderful festival that shows how much we care for our brothers and sisters. Are you excited? I am too!
To start our lesson, let’s gather around for a special story. Sit comfortably, close your eyes, and imagine the characters as I tell you the story of Rama and his Loyal Sister, Sita.
In a beautiful kingdom, there lived a brave prince named Rama and his loving sister, Sita. They were a happy pair who shared many adventures together.
One day, while Rama was away on a journey to protect their home, Sita was worried about her brother’s safety. She knew that he was strong and brave, but she wanted to make sure he was always protected.
So, Sita decided to do something very special. She made a beautiful thread, called a Rakhi, with lots of love. When Rama returned, Sita tied the Rakhi around his wrist and prayed for his safety.
"Promise me you will always protect me, dear brother!" she said.
Rama smiled brightly and replied, "I promise, Sita. I will always look after you!"
From that day onwards, brothers and sisters celebrated Raksha Bandhan every year by tying Rakhis and promising to care for one another forever. It became a special day filled with love, sweets, and fun!
Now that we’ve heard the story, I want you to think about a special bond you have with your sibling or a friend. What do you love most about them?
Today, we will learn more about Raksha Bandhan and how we can express our love and care for those who mean the most to us. Are you ready for some fun activities? Let’s go!
This introduction sets a warm and engaging tone for learning about Raksha Bandhan, encouraging students to connect personally with the story while being age-appropriate for Year 1.
