Welcome, little explorers! Today, we are going to embark on a colorful journey through the world of numbers! Are you ready? Let’s get started with our Magical Math Adventure!
Gather around, friends! First, let’s sit in a circle on our cozy rugs. Today, we’re going to meet Mr. Rainbow, who has a very special job: he helps us learn about numbers! Mr. Rainbow has seven colors, and each one represents a number! Let's find out which number belongs to each color.
Can you remember those colors and numbers? Let’s all say them together: Red is 1, Orange is 2, Yellow is 3, Green is 4, Blue is 5, Indigo is 6, Violet is 7!
Now that we know our colors and numbers, we’re going to create our very own Rainbow Number Line!
Cut Out Colored Strips: With the help of your teacher, cut out seven strips of colored paper, one for each color of the rainbow.
Number Your Strips: Using your markers, write the numbers 1 through 7 on each strip with the matching colors.
Make the Rainbow: Now it’s time to glue your strips in order to create a beautiful rainbow. Start with red at the top and end with violet!
Display Your Work: Once you finish, we will all display our rainbows on the wall for everyone to see!
After we complete our rainbows, let’s play a fun game! Everyone will take turns picking a colored strip from the Rainbow Number Line and saying the number out loud.
We will also play a little Number Hunt! I will hide number cards around the room, and when I say the color, you will look for the number that matches it. For example, if I say “Green!” You will search for the card that has the number 4!
What an amazing adventure we had today, friends! We learned about our colorful rainbow and the magic of numbers. Remember, math is everywhere, just like our beautiful rainbow!
