Introduction:

Welcome, young mathematicians! 🌟 Today, we are going to embark on an exciting adventure to uncover the mystery of the missing multiples! To kick off our lesson, I’d like you to imagine that we live in a magical kingdom called Mathlandia, where numbers come to life!

The Story:

Once upon a time in Mathlandia, the wise Numbers Council gathered for their annual festival to celebrate all things MULTIPLICATION. Everyone was busy practicing their dance moves to showcase their multiples. The graceful 3s were spinning in groups, and the fantastic 5s were forming beautiful patterns!

But wait! Oh no! 💔 As the festival started, some of the multiples went missing! The king, Number One, was in a panic! He called upon the bravest students from the nearby Clarity School (that’s you!) to help find the lost multiples!

Activity Prompt:

To help our dear king, we need to identify the multiples of different numbers that could be at the festival! Here’s what we’ll do:

  1. Group Work: Divide into small groups of 4-5 students.
  2. Task: Each group will pick a number between 2 and 10. Use the magic of multiplication to write down the first 5 multiples of your chosen number.
  3. Share: Once you’ve discovered your multiples, we will come together as a class to share what you found and discuss the patterns we notice!

After sharing our findings, we will help King Number One figure out where his missing multiples might be!
