By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
Begin by asking the students, "What does the word 'trinity' mean to you?" Allow a few students to share their thoughts.
Introduce the Holy Trinity as a fundamental belief in Christianity representing the concept of one God in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Use a diagram to illustrate the relationship of the three persons. Explain that they are distinct, yet all fully God.
Divide the class into small groups. Ask each group to discuss the following questions:
Encourage groups to share their thoughts with the class after 3 minutes.
Hand out a worksheet that includes a short passage or scripture related to the Holy Trinity.
Ask students to write a short paragraph (3-5 sentences) reflecting on how they see the Holy Trinity at work in their own lives or in the world around them.
Open the floor for any questions or clarifications regarding the Holy Trinity.
Encourage students to find a Bible verse that they feel illustrates the concept of the Holy Trinity. They should write a few sentences about why they chose that verse and how it relates to their understanding of God.
Assess students based on their participation in discussions, completion of the reflection activity, and homework assignment.
Note: Adapt the lesson as needed based on the students’ understanding and engagement levels.
