Year 6 Leavers Assembly Speech

Good afternoon, everyone, and welcome to our Year 6 Leavers assembly. Today, we gather here not just to celebrate our wonderful Year 6 students, but also to recognize the outstanding staff members who have contributed to our school community.

First and foremost, I would like to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation to our Year 6 students. What a remarkable group you have been! It feels like just yesterday you were entering our school as bright-eyed little ones, and now you are ready to take the next big step into secondary school. Each of you has grown so much over the years, both academically and personally.

Your performances throughout the year have been nothing short of spectacular. From captivating plays to inspiring projects, you have demonstrated creativity, talent, and determination. The friendships you have built during your time here will last a lifetime, and your positive spirits have left a lasting impact on our school community.

As we celebrate your achievements today, I want you to take a moment to reflect on all the memories you’ve made and the lessons you’ve learned. Thank you for being such an incredible year group. You truly exemplify the values we hold dear at our school.

Now, while we celebrate our students, we must also take a moment to recognize some wonderful staff members who are moving on to new adventures.

First, let’s acknowledge Felicity Webster, who has dedicated 24 amazing years to our school, specializing in Forest School. Felicity, your passion for the outdoors and your commitment to nurturing a love for nature in our students has inspired countless children to explore, learn, and grow. Your influence has created a lasting legacy in our school community, and you will be dearly missed. We wish you all the best in your next chapter!

Next, we have Isabel Dwyer, an inspiring teacher who has ignited a passion for history in our hearts. Isabel, your enthusiasm for teaching Spanish and sharing your love of history has opened windows to new worlds for our students. Thank you for enriching our curriculum and for making learning a joyful experience. We wish you the best on your new journey!

Let’s also give a round of applause to Lorna Nicholls, who has been such a lovely addition to our team. Your warm presence has given our Reception students a fantastic start to their school journey. We are so grateful for the positive atmosphere you created in your classroom. As you move forward, we know you will continue to inspire and nurture young minds wherever you go.

Lastly, we have Katherine Nicholls, who, although she has only been with us a short time, has made a significant impact on those around her. Your contributions have been appreciated, and the kindness you’ve shown to our students and staff has not gone unnoticed. Best wishes for your future endeavors!

As we say goodbye to these remarkable staff members and our extraordinary Year 6 students, let us remember the memories we've created and the bonds we've formed. Keep striving for excellence, stay curious, and embrace all the new opportunities that come your way.

In closing, I wish all of you a bright and successful future. Congratulations, Year 6, and to our departing staff members, thank you for your dedication and love for teaching. We will miss you dearly!

Thank you!
