Welcome to Geography Adventure Day, 5th graders! Today, we are going to embark on a thrilling journey to explore the wonderful world of geography. Are you ready to become geographic explorers and uncover the mysteries of our planet?
Each of you will receive a special Adventure Map that will guide you on a quest to discover different geographical features around the world. Your mission is to find and learn about at least three significant landforms or bodies of water!
Gather together as I gradually unveil our Adventure Map. This colorful map includes various landscapes, such as mountains, rivers, deserts, and oceans. Each feature has a unique story to tell!
Once you have your maps, work in pairs and identify the geographical features you find interesting. Decorate your map with drawings and colors to make it vibrant. You can use the markers or crayons provided!
After decorating, pick three features from your map to research. What can you discover about them? Use the books or tablets to learn fun facts, such as:
At the end of the class, we will have a mini-presentation where each pair will share one interesting fact about the features they researched. Use sticky notes to jot down your facts and stick them on the map.
