Scenario:
Imagine you are a brave explorer navigating through the Decimal Jungle. Each area of this jungle is represented by different decimal places: tenths, hundredths, and thousandths. To move forward in your journey and uncover hidden treasures, you must solve the puzzles that each area presents—working with decimal place values.

Activity: Decimal Treasure Map

1. Introduction:
   To start our adventure, I want you to visualize a treasure map with three zones:

   • Tenths Territory (0.1 to 0.9)
   • Hundredths Haven (0.01 to 0.99)
   • Thousandths Town (0.001 to 0.999)

2. Grouping:
   Form small groups and assign each group one of the zones. Each group will receive a brief description of their zone along with a set of treasures (decimal-related problems) to solve that are relevant to their area.

3. Exploration Tasks:
   Each group must:

   • Create a flag representing their zone.
   • Solve at least three puzzles related to their decimal place (reading, writing, or comparing decimals).
   • Present their discoveries to the class and explain the importance of their designated place value.

Presentation of Findings:

After the exploration, each group will present their flags and findings. Encourage creativity in their presentations through storytelling or role-play to make decimals come alive.

Transition to Lesson Content:

Once everyone has shared their discoveries, we will collaboratively map out the Decimal Jungle on the board, labeling each zone, its treasures, and the importance of each decimal place value.
