Welcome to Reading Adventure!

Introduction

Attention, Amazing Readers! 📚✨

Today, we are going to embark on a thrilling journey through the pages of a book, where words transform into wonderful worlds! But before we dive into our exciting stories, I have a special activity to warm up our minds and get our reading engines started.

The Mystery Word Game 🕵️‍♂️

Objective:

To enhance our understanding of characters, settings, and events in stories by predicting and inferring based on clues.

Instructions:

  1. Gather Around: Everyone, please circle up! Listen closely!

  2. Choose a Character: I will think of a character from one of our favorite stories, but I won't tell you who it is. Instead, I'll give you three clues about them.

  3. Clue Time:

    • Clue 1: This character is very brave and loves adventures.
    • Clue 2: They often find themselves in tough situations but always find a way out.
    • Clue 3: This character has a special friend who helps them along the way.
  4. Guessing Game: Once I've given you all three clues, you will raise your hand to guess who my character is! Take a moment to think about the stories we’ve read together.

  5. Discussion: After each guess, we will talk about the connections between our clues and the stories we know. What details helped you make your guess? What parts of the stories did you remember?

Transition to Reading:

As we play this game, think about how we analyze characters and settings in our reading. After we've figured out our mystery character, we'll go deeper into RL.3.1. This standard encourages us to ask and answer questions about the material we read and help us understand the story better.

Now, are you ready to uncover our mystery character and dive into today's reading adventure? Let's go! 🚀📖
