To introduce the concept of personal development in a fun and engaging way for preschoolers.
Materials Needed:
Invite all the children to sit in a circle around the designated area where the mirror will be placed.
Hold up the mirror and say,
"Today, we are going to look into our special 'Magic Mirror'! This mirror helps us see all the wonderful things about ourselves. Can everyone say, 'Hello, Magic Mirror!'?"
One by one, let each child step up and look into the mirror. Encourage them to express something they like about themselves. For instance, they can say,
"I like my big smile!"
or
"I love my curly hair!"
While they share, give them a colorful scarf to wear, celebrating their uniqueness.
After everyone has had a turn, play some cheerful music and invite the children to dance around the circle, wearing their scarves. Encourage them to twirl and sway, while talking about how they feel special and unique.
End the lesson by gathering the children back in the circle. Ask them how it felt to share something about themselves. Lead a short discussion by asking questions like:
Wrap up the lesson with a reminder that we are all unique and special in our own ways. Encourage the children to look into their "Magic Mirror" at home and share what they love about themselves with their families.
Personal development starts with knowing and loving who you are!
