Welcome to our exciting art lesson, "All About Me!" Today we're going to explore who we are through creativity and self-expression. Everyone is special in their own way, and we’re going to celebrate that uniqueness with some fun art activities!
Start by inviting all the children to sit in a circle. Make sure they are comfortable and can see you clearly. Introduce the topic with enthusiasm.
Begin with a cheerful voice:
"Today, we’re going to talk about something super special—YOU! Each of you is like a bright star in the sky, shining with your own colors and patterns! We’re going to create art inspired by who we are, so let’s get ready for a fun-filled adventure!"
Next, create a "magic mirror" using a large, decorated cardboard frame or a reflective surface if you have one. You can even use craft materials to embellish the frame beforehand.
Show the Magic Mirror: Hold up the magic mirror and say, "When you look into this mirror, you will see the most wonderful person in the world—you! Let’s take a moment to look at our reflections and think about what makes us unique."
Prompt Reflection: Encourage each child to think of something special about themselves. Ask questions like:
Draw Together: After the reflections, provide each child with a small piece of paper and crayons or markers. Prompt them:
"Now, let’s draw something that represents what makes you YOU! It could be your favorite toy, your pet, or anything that makes you smile!"
Once the children have completed their drawings, gather them again in a circle to share their masterpieces. Encourage each child to explain a little about their drawings, using phrases like:
Wrap up the lesson by saying, "Remember, everyone has something special that makes them unique! Keep celebrating who you are and what you love."
After the sharing session, collect all the individual artworks and help the children create a large class collage titled "All About Us!" This will serve as a beautiful reminder of everyone’s individuality and the joy of being together in class.
Let’s get creative and have fun while we learn about ourselves!
