Lesson Outline
Introduction (5 minutes)
- Begin with a brief discussion on what horticulture is and why it is important.
- Define horticulture: the art and science of growing fruits, vegetables, flowers, and plants.
- Ask students if they have any experience with gardening or plant care.
Presentation (10 minutes)
- Show pictures of various plants and categorize them into groups: flowers, vegetables, fruits, and herbs.
- Discuss the characteristics of each group:
- Flowers: Bright colors, often fragrant, attract pollinators.
- Vegetables: Grown for food, often cultivated based on climate.
- Fruits: Develop from the flower of a plant, full of seeds.
