• A plush toy or puppet for storytelling

Step-by-Step:

1. Create a Cozy Space
   Gather the children on the cushions or mats in a circle. This will be our “number safari base camp” where all the exploration begins.

2. Introduce the Safari Guide
   Use a plush toy or puppet as your safari guide. Let it "talk" to the children, welcoming them and inviting them to go on a magical adventure where they will discover numbers and shapes hidden in the jungle.

3. Count the Animals
   The safari guide can suggest that they find their favourite animal related to a number. For example:
   “Can we find 3 little elephants? Let’s count together: One, two, three!”
   Show them the number card "3" and a picture of an elephant.

4. Shape Hunt
   Next, the guide can ask them to look for shapes! Pose exciting questions like:
   “Who can find something that’s round like a circle?”
   As they point out or hand over a circular item, hold it up and say, “Wow, look! This is a circle!”

5. Wrap-up with a Sing-Along
   Finish the lesson by singing a simple counting song together, incorporating movements to make it lively. For example, the classic 'Five Little Ducks' is a great way to engage them while reinforcing counting skills.
