Lesson Overview:
In this lesson segment, students will participate in an interactive activity that allows them to explore various careers. Through group discussions, individual reflections, and creative presentations, they will develop a clearer picture of what factors to consider when choosing a career.

Steps to Organize the Activity:

Introduction (10 minutes)
- Start with a brief discussion about the importance of choosing a career and how it impacts one’s life. Ask students to share their thoughts on what factors they think are important in career selection (e.g., interests, salary, job security).
- Introduce the Career Exploration Fair concept. Explain that they will be exploring different careers to make an informed decision about their future.

Career Interest Survey (10 minutes)
- Distribute the Career Interest Surveys to each student. These surveys should consist of questions that help students assess their interests and strengths (e.g., do they enjoy working with people, numbers, technology, etc.?)
- Allow students time to complete the survey and reflect on their results.

Group Formation (5 minutes)
- Divide the class into small groups of 4-5 students. Assign each group a specific industry to research (e.g., Healthcare, Technology, Arts, Business, Education, etc.).

Research and Preparation (15 minutes)
- Each group will use provided resources (books, brochures, and websites) to research their assigned industry. They should look for:
- Key career options within that industry
- Required education and skills
- Typical salary ranges
- Job outlook and demand for these careers
- After gathering information, each group will create a poster summarizing their findings on chart paper. Encourage creativity in design and content presentation.

Career Exploration Fair (10 minutes)
- Host the “Career Exploration Fair” where each group presents their poster to the class.
- While groups present, the rest of the class will roam around, viewing the different posters and taking notes on careers that interest them. They can use sticky notes to jot down questions or comments to share with the presenting group afterward.

Reflection and Discussion (5 minutes)
- Conclude the activity with a class discussion. Ask questions such as:
- What new careers did you learn about?
- Which career options appealed to you the most and why?
- How do your interests align with the careers you discovered?
- Encourage students to think about next steps, such as further research or talking to professionals in fields they are interested in.
Homework Assignment:
Students will write a short reflection (1-2 paragraphs) on which career they are most interested in based on the exploration activity and why they think that career would suit them. They should also outline one action step they can take to learn more about that career (e.g., interviewing someone in the field, job shadowing, or researching educational requirements).
