Welcome, brave young readers! Today, we are going to embark on a magical journey that will take us deep into the land of stories. Are you ready to open the doors to new adventures? Let’s ignite our imaginations and explore the wonderful world of reading comprehension together!
Gather around: All students should sit in a circle while you display the Mystery Box in the middle.
Create Excitement: Tell the students that inside the box are magical items that can lead them to new stories. Ask them to guess what might be inside.
Unveiling the Items: One by one, pull out each item and reveal it to the class. For example, if you pull out the toy dragon, you could say, “What kind of story do you think we can create around a dragon?” Encourage students to share their ideas.
Connecting to Reading: After revealing all the items, explain how these props can help us understand stories better. Tell them that every great story has characters, settings, and problems.
Engagement Question: Ask the students, “What is a story that you love that reminds you of any of these items?” This question will encourage them to think about their favourite stories while setting the stage for the lesson.
Now that we have our magical items and ideas swirling in our minds, it's time to dive into a reading adventure! We will read a story together and practice our reading comprehension skills. By the end of our lesson, you will be fabulous reading detectives, uncovering the secrets hidden in every tale!
Are you ready to read? Grab your reading eyes and let’s go on a quest for understanding! 🌟📚
