Imagine that you're in a circus and you’ve just received a mysterious package. Inside, you find several props: a dazzling deck of cards, colorful juggling balls, and a giant wheel of numbers. Each prop is a clue to solve a number riddle. But, there's a twist — you must use your math skills to make these props come alive!
Deck of Cards: You pull out a card with a number on it. Can you add, subtract, multiply, or divide that number with your classmates to reach a target number, say 50? Work in pairs and discuss how you can use different operations to achieve the target.
Juggling Balls: Each juggling ball has a different number of dots. How many total dots do you see if you have 5 balls with 3, 2, 4, 1, and 6 dots respectively? Together, find the total and share your methods with the class!
Wheel of Numbers: Spin the giant wheel to land on a random number. What are three different equations you can create using that number? Challenge your peers to come up with their own equations using yours as inspiration!
