Adventure Setup

Objective

• By the end of this lesson, you will be able to count from 1 to 10.

Materials Needed

• Colorful counting cards (numbered 1 to 10)
• Small objects (like blocks, buttons, or counting bears)
• A big poster board with the number line from 1 to 10
• Stickers or stamps for rewards

The 10-Story Journey

Step 1: The Magical Number Cards

1. Gather Around!
   Let’s sit in a circle. I will show you some magical number cards, each with a number from 1 to 10.

2. Discover the Numbers!
   Let’s say the numbers together! Hold up your hands and count along with me as I display each card:

   • “1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10!”

Step 2: The Counting Game

Object Hunt

• Now, we’ll play a counting game! I will hide small objects around the room.
• When I say "Go!" you will have 1 minute to find as many objects as you can!
• After finding them, we’ll come back to our circle.

Step 3: Count Together

1. Count Our Treasures!
   Once you all return, show me what you collected! Let’s count them together. If you picked up 3 objects, let’s say “1, 2, 3” together.

2. Let’s Complete the Line
   Use the big poster board to place the objects next to the correct number on our number line. This will help us visualize how to count all the way to 10.

Step 4: Celebrate Count 10!

1. Sticker Time!
   Once we reach 10, everyone gets a sticker for completing our counting adventure!

2. Sing a Counting Song
   Let’s sing our special counting song:

   (To the tune of "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star")
   Count to ten, it's so much fun, 
   1, 2, 3, then 4, 5, 6, 
   7, 8, 9, and here comes 10,
   Count again, let's do it again!
