Welcome to Vowel Adventure! 🌟

Objective:

Today, we’re going to dive into the exciting world of short vowels. We’ll learn how these little letters can change the way we say and understand words!

Opening Activity: "Vowel Treasure Hunt" 🕵️‍♀️🕵️‍♂️

Step 1: Gather Your Tools

Get ready to become a vowel detective! Take out your Vowel Treasure Hunt Worksheet (you'll find it on your desk), a pencil, and your listening ears.

Step 2: The Letter of the Day

Today’s letter is “a,” “e,” “i,” “o,” or “u”! I'm going to call out a short vowel sound, and I want you to find something in the classroom that starts with that sound. For example, if I say “a,” you might shout out “apple!”

Step 3: Treasure Hunt Time!

Once you've found an item, write it down on your worksheet under the correct short vowel category. You'll have just 5 minutes to discover as many treasures as you can!

Step 4: Share Your Findings

After the time is up, we will regroup and share one or two treasures we found. I can’t wait to hear your creative words!

Conclusion

By the end of our lesson, you’ll be able to recognize and use short vowels in words, making you a super vowel hero!
