Welcome to today's Spanish lesson! Today we will be discussing the Preterite Tense. The Preterite Tense is an important aspect of the Spanish language as it is used to talk about past actions that have been completed.
The Preterite Tense is formed using different sets of endings for regular verbs. For example, for -ar verbs, the ending will be -é, -aste, -ó, -amos, or -aron. For -er and -ir verbs, the ending will be -í, -iste, -ió, -imos, or -ieron.
There are also many irregular verbs in the Preterite Tense, such as "tener" or "poner". We will go over these irregular verbs together.
Let's look at some examples. "Hablar" means "to talk", so "Yo hablé" means "I talked". "Comer", which means "to eat", changes to "Comimos" for "We ate".
Please take out your handouts with exercises. You will have 10 minutes to work on the exercises on your own. Don't worry if you don't finish - we will go over them together afterward.
Let's go over the exercises now. I will ask for volunteers to provide the correct answer to each question. If you don't know the answer, don't be afraid to ask questions. I'm here to help!
For homework, I would like you to complete the worksheet provided and submit it to me at the beginning of our next lesson. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
Thank you for your hard work today!
