Objective: Today, we’re going to explore our feelings and learn how to share them with others!
Begin with a Story: Gather the students in a cozy circle. Start by revealing a colorful storybook about a friendly bear named Benny who discovers different feelings in the forest. Explain that as you read, everyone will get a chance to show their feelings too!
Begin reading the story of Benny the Bear. Pause at key moments when Benny experiences different emotions like happiness, sadness, and surprise.
After each emotion is introduced, have the students act out how that emotion looks. For example:
Encourage the children to share a time when they felt each emotion. To make it easier, use a “Feelings Wheel” with simple pictures representing different emotions.
Conclude the lesson by giving each child a piece of paper and crayons. Ask them to draw their favorite feeling. This will help them connect with their emotions through art.
Wrap up the lesson by sitting together and talking about why it’s important to know our feelings and share them with friends. Remind them that all feelings are okay!
Remember: Feelings make us who we are, and it’s important to express them! Let's continue our Feelings Adventure every day!
