Hello, little explorers! Today, we’re going on a fun adventure to discover the amazing world of the letter A! We will sing, dance, and even meet some friendly animals whose names start with our special letter!
To kick things off, let’s sing the “A is for Apple” song together! (You can use a cheerful melody similar to a familiar tune).
🎶
A is for Apple, crispy and bright,
A is for Alligator, with a big smile to bite!
A is for Airplane, flying high and free,
A is for Ant, so tiny, can you see?
🎶
Repeat the song a few times and encourage the children to use hand motions to mimic the actions of each animal or object mentioned.
Now that we’re warmed up, let’s meet some special animal friends whose names start with the letter A!
Alligator: Show a picture of an alligator and make a chomp-chomp sound. “Can you pretend to be an alligator? Let’s chomp with our arms!”
Ant: Show pictures of ants. “Look how tiny they are! Can we walk like ants on the ground?”
Aardvark: Show a picture of an aardvark. “This funny animal loves to eat ants! Let’s wiggle our long noses like an aardvark!”
Now it’s time to get crafty! Each of you will get a big letter A to decorate. You can use:
