Objective
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to confidently introduce themselves in English, including their name, age, nationality, occupation, and interests.

- Whiteboard and markers
- Handouts with vocabulary and sentence structures
- Name tags for each student
- A timer
Lesson Outline
1. Warm-up Activity (5 minutes)
- Greeting: Begin the lesson by greeting the students and introducing yourself.
- Icebreaker: Ask students to turn to their neighbor for one minute and briefly share one interesting fact about themselves. Then, invite a few volunteers to share with the whole class.
2. Vocabulary Introduction (5 minutes)
- Key Phrases: Write the following phrases on the whiteboard:
- "My name is..."
- "I am ... years old."
- "I am from..."
- "I work as a..."
- "My hobbies are..."
- Discussion: Briefly explain the meaning of each phrase and provide examples.
3. Guided Practice (10 minutes)
- Fill-in-the-Blank Activity:
- Distribute handouts with sentences that students need to complete using their own information.
- Example: "My name is . I am ____ years old. I am from ."
- Pair Work: Have students work in pairs to practice their introductions based on their completed sentences. Encourage them to ask follow-up questions like "What do you do?" or "What are your hobbies?"
4. Group Activity (5 minutes)
- Name Tags: Give each student a name tag and ask them to write their name and one hobby or special interest on it.
- Mix and Mingle: Allow students to walk around the room and introduce themselves using their name tags, practicing their introductions with different classmates.
5. Closing Activity (5 minutes)
- Class Reflection: Bring the class back together and ask students how they felt about introducing themselves.
- Volunteers: Invite a few students to share their introductions with the class.
- Feedback: Provide positive feedback and corrections if necessary.
Assessment
Observe the students during the pair and group activities to assess their ability to introduce themselves. Check for correct use of vocabulary and structure.
Homework (Optional)
Students can write a short paragraph about themselves using the phrases learned in class and bring it to the next lesson for further practice.
