Objectives

Introduction (5 minutes)

- Share that doodling can be fun and helps in relaxing our minds. Explain that today they will create their own character called "Doodle Dan."
Direct Instruction (10 minutes)
- Show examples of various doodles and cartoon characters. Discuss the elements of doodling (lines, shapes, patterns, and characters).
- Introduce Doodle Dan as a character that can be anything the students want. It can have different shapes, accessories, and expressions.
- Demonstrate a simple technique on how to start doodling a character, emphasizing creativity and fun.
Guided Practice (10 minutes)
- Give students their drawing materials. Instruct them to start with a simple shape to form the head of Doodle Dan, then add features such as eyes, mouth, and accessories (hats, glasses, etc.).
- Walk around the classroom, offering guidance and encouragement. Encourage students to think outside the box and add imaginative elements to their characters.
Independent Practice (5 minutes)
- Allow students to take their doodle to the next level by coloring it in and adding more details. Encourage them to fill the background with patterns or additional doodles.
- Play some soft music in the background to inspire creativity and keep the classroom atmosphere relaxed.
Closing (5 minutes)
- Invite students to share their Doodle Dan creations with the class.
- Ask them to explain any unique features or stories behind their characters.
- Reinforce the idea that there are no right or wrong ways to doodle, emphasizing creativity and personal expression in art.
