Good morning, young mathematicians! Today, we’re going on a fun journey to discover expanded form. Can anyone guess what that might mean? Let’s find out together!
Once upon a time in the magical Kingdom of Numbers, all the numbers lived happily together. Each number had its unique shape and size, but they wanted to show how special they truly were.
One sunny day, the wise old number, 100, decided to throw a grand party! He invited everyone, including 2, 5, and 3. But when the numbers arrived, they noticed that King 100 looked a bit different.
"Why do you look so… big today?" asked little 2 curiously.
"I’ve added some very special friends to help me show how strong I really am!" said King 100.
King 100 explained that he could be made up of smaller numbers in a fun way!
So, if we take a number like 345, King 345 would say:
This means he is made up of 300, 40, and 5—just like how you might pick your favorite toys to make a wonderful toy collection!
Now it’s YOUR turn! Imagine you have your very own Number Kingdom.
When we share our creations later, we’ll see how every number in our kingdom is unique and important!
Are you excited to build your own number castle and learn more about expanded form? Grab your markers and paper, and let’s get started on our math adventure! 🎉
