Reading Adventure Begins!

🎉 Welcome to Our Reading Journey! 🎉

Introduction: Setting the Scene

Today, we’re going to start an exciting adventure in the land of books! Imagine with me for a moment: What if books were magic doors that could take us anywhere in the world? To faraway lands, underwater kingdoms, or even outer space!

Engagement Activity: The Magic Book Box

To kick off our lesson, let’s begin with a fun activity! I have a special Magic Book Box (a decorated box or bag) here with me. Inside, I have a few mystery items that relate to different stories.

1. Get Ready!

   • Gather around the Magic Book Box.
   • I will pull out one item at a time. Each object will give us a clue about a story we might read today.

2. Guess the Story!

   • When I show you an item, I want you to guess which story it belongs to or what it might remind you of. For example, if I pull out a rubber duck, you might think of "Make Way for Ducklings!"

3. Sharing Ideas:

   • After showing an item, we will have a short discussion. What do you think happens in the story? Who are the characters? Where does it take place?

Connecting with Books

Once we’ve guessed all the items, I’ll explain how each object connects to reading and stories—just like how our imaginations work when we dive into a book. Reading helps us travel to these different places, meet new friends, and learn new things!

Transition to Reading Time

Now that we are warmed up and excited, let’s open our own magic doors (books) together and see where our reading adventure will take us today! Who’s ready?
