Today, we are going on a very special treasure hunt! But wait—this hunt is not for gold or jewels. Instead, we will be searching for something even more magical: sight words!
Sight words are special words that we see all the time in our reading and writing. Some examples are words like “the,” “and,” and “is.” When we learn sight words, it helps us read faster and understand stories better!
Treasure Map Creation
First, let’s create our own treasure map! On each corner of your paper, draw a big “X” where you will hide your sight words. This will be our map to finding the words!
Gather Around the Story Tree
Next, gather around our Story Tree (your reading corner setup). I will read a special story filled with sight words. As we read, listen carefully and see if you can spot any sight words hiding in the pages!
Sight Word Dance Party!
After the story, we’ll jump up and celebrate! Let’s play a game. When I say a sight word, you will clap your hands. If you hear a word that is not a sight word, just stand still!
Learning sight words is like collecting magic keys! Each word you learn helps you unlock new stories and adventures in books. The more keys you have, the more doors to fun and learning you can open!
Are you ready to start this exciting sight word adventure? Grab your treasure map and don’t forget your explorer’s spirit! We are going to have a fantastic time learning together!
Remember: Every time you learn a new sight word, you are one step closer to becoming a reading superstar! 🌟
