Good morning, little explorers! Today, we're going to go on a very special adventure. But instead of traveling through the woods or flying in the sky, we will be diving into the magical world of empathy!
To kick off our adventure, let's gather in a cozy circle. In this circle, we will create a story together!
📖 Here’s how it will work:
Story Starter: I’ll begin telling a short story about Max the Mouse, who found a friend in Lily the Ladybug. One sunny morning, Max noticed that Lily looked sad because she had lost her way home.
Your Turn: After the first part of the story, I will pause and ask each of you, “How do you think Max felt seeing Lily sad?” Encourage the children to share their answers.
Adding to the Story: We will then take turns adding to the story by saying what Max might do to help Lily. Will he offer to help her find her home? Will he give her a hug? Let’s see those creative ideas flow!
Once we've finished our story, we’ll transition to a wonderful craft activity where each of you will create your very own “Empathy Heart.”
What You'll Need:
Craft Instructions:
Once our crafts are finished, we will hang them on our empathy bulletin board. This will remind us to always show kindness and understanding to our friends, just like Max the Mouse!
At the end of our lesson, we’ll gather back in our circle to share our “Empathy Hearts.” Each of you will have a chance to tell us what your heart says and how you can show empathy to your friends every day.
Empathy is like a superpower! It helps us understand when our friends are feeling happy or sad. Let’s make sure to use our superpower to spread kindness!
We’re going to have a wonderful time learning about empathy today, and I can’t wait to see your amazing ideas! Let's begin! 🎈
