I have a mystery box here. Inside, there are some items that remind us of what a school counselor does.
Guessing Game
I will pull out one item from the box and give you a clue about it. You have to listen carefully and guess what it is!
Clue 1: This item helps you talk about your feelings. It can be a book with colorful pages.
Item: A feelings book! 📖
Clue 2: This tool helps solve problems between friends. It’s often used in jigsaw puzzles.
Item: Puzzle pieces! 🧩
Clue 3: This special chair is a place where you can sit and feel safe sharing your thoughts and worries.
Item: A comfy chair! 🪑
Wrap-Up Activity
After we guess all the items, I want you to think about a time when you felt sad or happy, and how a school counselor might help you feel better!
Now that we’ve learned a bit about what our school counselor does, who wants to share their thoughts?
In our lesson today, we discovered that the school counselor is someone we can trust, who helps us with our feelings, friendships, and making good choices. They are here for us, and we will get to meet them soon!
Next week, we will have a special Meet the Counselor Day where we can learn even more about our counselor and ask them our questions! So think of a question you would like to ask them.
