Hello, Class 3! 🌟 Today, we're going on an exciting adventure to explore our feelings and emotions through something called the Zones of Regulation. Have you ever noticed how sometimes you feel really happy and excited, and other times you might feel a little sad or angry? That’s something we all experience, and it's perfectly okay!
Imagine you have a treasure map that helps you locate different feelings. The Zones of Regulation is like that map! It has four special zones which show how we might feel at different times. Each zone represents a different kind of feeling.
The Green Zone: This is where we feel calm, happy, and focused. It’s like being in the sunshine on a lovely day! 🌞
The Yellow Zone: In this zone, you might feel a bit anxious or worried. It's not too bad but it's good to be aware of it! Think of it like the sky before a storm—cloudy but not raining yet. ☁️
The Red Zone: Whoa! This zone is for when our feelings get BIG! You might feel angry, frustrated, or overwhelmed. Imagine a volcano about to erupt! 🌋
The Blue Zone: We feel a bit down, tired, or sad in this zone. It’s like a rainy day where you just want to snuggle up with a blanket. ☔
To kick off our lesson, I have a fun activity for you!
Materials Needed: Stories, pictures, or examples of different feelings (happy, sad, angry, etc.). You can draw faces or use stickers too!
Instructions:
Discussion: After we finish our game, we'll discuss how we all feel sometimes and how understanding our emotions can help us better manage them.
Through today’s lesson and our fun activity, we will learn how our feelings change and how to recognise where we are on our feelings map! So, are you ready to discover which zone you’re in today? Let's have a fantastic time together! 💖
