Lesson Introduction: Amazing Animals!

Objective

Today, we are going to embark on an exciting adventure about animals! We will learn about different animals, where they live, what they eat, and how they move.

Materials Needed

Creative Opening: Animal Parade!

Step 1: Setting the Scene

Gather the children in a circle on the carpet. Start by using a gentle drum or clapping your hands to create a rhythm. Explain that today, they will participate in an “Animal Parade.”

Step 2: Introduce the Theme

Tell the students they are going to pretend to be different animals but first, they have to guess what animals each of their classmates will be!

Step 3: Animal Guessing Game

  1. Choose an Animal:

    • Select one of the animal picture cards without showing it to the class.
  2. Animal Sounds:

    • Make the sound of the animal or describe its movement (e.g., "I’m big and can roar!").
  3. Class Guessing:

    • Invite the children to guess what animal you are imitating. After a few guesses, reveal the card, show the picture of the animal, and share one fun fact about it.

Step 4: Parade Time!

Step 5: Transition to Learning

After the parade, gather the students back together and explain that now that they’ve had fun moving and making sounds like animals, they will learn more about where those animals live and how they survive in the wild!

With this engaging introduction, the lesson on animals not only captures the children's interest but also fosters creativity, movement, and critical thinking through play.
