In the days leading up to the contest, Tommy decided that he couldn’t tackle this challenge alone. He enlisted his best friends, Sarah and Jake, to join him. Together, they formed an unbeatable team, each contributing unique skills to the project. Sarah had a knack for drawing and sketching beautiful designs, while Jake was the “pumpkin whisperer,” able to find the loftiest pumpkins at the local patch, ones that were perfect for carving.

The friends spent hours sketching various designs that reflected their favorite things: video games, space, and nature. Finally, they settled on a design that included an outer space theme, featuring planets and stars.
The carving started with enthusiasm. Tommy took the lead, and with every cut of the knife, their vision began to emerge. Sarah giggled as they accidentally cut a bit too deep, but Jake exclaimed, “Mistakes can make the best art!” With laughter, they pressed on, embracing every challenge.
As the day of the contest finally arrived, Tommy, Sarah, and Jake stood beside their gigantic pumpkin, proudly gazing at their work. The team had worked hard to ensure every detail was perfect, and they couldn’t wait for the judges to see it. When the time came for the contestants to present, Tommy stepped up, his heart racing.
“We would like to unveil our creation!” he declared, and the crowd grew silent as they presented their carved pumpkin, showcasing a vibrant galaxy filled with stars. The detailed artwork garnered gasps and sparkled admiration across the audience.
After all the contestants had showcased their pumpkins, the judges gathered to deliberate. As the sun began to set, the time came to announce the winners. The suspense in the air was palpable.
When the judges returned, the head judge cleared his throat and began, “This year, we would like to give a special award for creativity and teamwork. The winner of the Great Pumpkin Carving Contest is…” He paused dramatically, “Tommy, Sarah, and Jake with their amazing outer space pumpkin!”
Cheers erupted, and the friends hugged each other tightly, celebrating their hard work and the joy they shared. This year, they had not only carved a pumpkin but also created lasting memories—proof that when you work together, the contributions of each individual can lead to extraordinary results.
