Cleanliness plays a critical role in maintaining the health of the children, staff, and visitors. Fi emphasised the following points:
The meeting underscored the shared responsibilities among staff concerning health and safety:
Individual and Collective Responsibility:
While all staff members are responsible for their own health and safety, there is a collective responsibility for the health and safety of the children in our care.
Child-Centric Approach:
Each staff member must ensure that they are caring for the specific children assigned to them.
Apprentices' Transition:
It was noted that the apprentices will be transitioning between rooms in January, which will involve working with different children. Nonetheless, the Level 3 staff will maintain consistency in their assignments.
To ensure the expectations and responsibilities outlined are met, the following action points were established:
Training on Cleanliness Protocols:
Staff will be called upon to attend a forthcoming training session led by Fi to ensure all team members are equipped with the necessary cleaning skills.
Regular Health and Safety Audits:
A schedule will be implemented whereby health and safety audits will be conducted monthly to ensure compliance with cleaning and maintenance protocols.
Ongoing Support System:
Staff are encouraged to communicate any concerns regarding child care or health practices openly, fostering a supportive environment that prioritises the wellbeing of all children.
