🌟 Objective: Get students excited about learning English through storytelling and interactive participation!
Materials Needed:
Setup: Gather your students in a circle on the reading blanket. Hold up the storybook so everyone can see the cover.
As the students settle in, say:
"Good morning, young adventurers! Today, we are going to journey into a magical world with words! 🧙♂️✨ This special book holds secrets and stories that will help us learn English. But first, can anyone guess what type of stories we might find inside?"
After a few responses, invite the students to play a game:
"Before we open the book, let's become word detectives! 🤔🔍 Each of you will get a chance to come up and choose a word from the picture on the cover. It could be any word you see! We'll shout out loud what the word is and talk about what it means!"
Encouragement: Give each child a turn to choose a word. Celebrate their contributions with applause and encouragement!
Once all the words have been chosen and discussed, say:
"Now, let's unlock the magic of our story. Are you ready to join me on this adventure? Let's dive into our story and discover new words together!"
After reading the story, explain how the adventure connects to learning English:
"Just like our story had characters and adventures, our lesson today will be about creating our own magical sentences! We will take our favorite words from the story and make something wonderful together!"
With this fun and dynamic beginning, you will inspire your Year 1 students and create a warm atmosphere for learning English. Happy teaching!
