Who here has seen a treasure map? 🗺️ Just like a treasure map helps us find hidden treasures, a number line helps us find and understand numbers!

📏 Let’s Create Our Own Number Line!

Guess what? We’re going to make our own giant number line right here in our classroom! You’ll need:

• A long piece of string (this will be our number line!)
• Some colorful paper numbers (from 0 to 10, maybe?)
• Some tape or clips to hold it in place!

🔍 Ready, Set, Let’s Count!

1. First, help me lay out the string straight across the floor.
2. Now, we will hang our colorful number papers on it from 0 to 10.
3. As we place each number, let’s say the number out loud! Ready? One… Two… Three…

🚀 Exploring the Number Line

Once we finish, we’ll step back and look at our number line. Then, I'll ask you some fun questions:

• “What number is next to 3?”
• “How many little hops will it take to get from 2 to 5?”
