Procedure
Warm-up (5 minutes)

- Encourage the students to share their favorite songs and types of music
- Explain that music has different parts, just like a puzzle, which we will learn about today
Introduction to Music Elements (10 minutes)
- Write the following music elements on the white board: rhythm, melody, harmony, dynamics, and tempo
- Explain each element in simplified terms by using everyday examples (i.e., rhythm is like clapping your hands, melody is like singing a tune, harmony is like playing instruments together, dynamics is like turning the volume up or down, and tempo is like walking fast or slow)
- Demonstrate each element by playing a simple song or instrumental piece and inviting the students to participate by clapping, moving, or singing along
Music Instrument Exploration (10 minutes)
- Distribute the musical instruments to the students
- Play a simple rhythm and encourage the students to follow along by playing their instruments
- Switch to a different rhythm and encourage the students to create their own patterns using their instruments
- Gradually increase the tempo and dynamics to challenge the students' coordination and listening skills
Music Symbols and Activities (5 minutes)
- Distribute the worksheets with music symbols and activities
- Review the symbols and explain their meanings and uses
- Ask the students to complete the activities independently or with a partner
Wrap-up and Homework (5 minutes)
- Summarize the music elements and their meanings
- Encourage the students to practice their musical skills at home by listening to music, singing, or playing their instruments
- Distribute the homework assignment, which is to create a simple rhythm or melody using their instruments or body percussion and share it with the class in the next lesson
