Welcome to our Parent Meeting for Year/ Grade 4 Maths Class! I am glad to see all of you here today. Our aim is to discuss how your child is doing in the class so far, the various topics and learning objectives, and ways in which we can work together to improve your child's understanding and performance.
We follow the national curriculum for mathematics which covers topics such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and geometry. The curriculum is structured in a way that allows students to build upon their understanding each year to become proficient in maths. Our lessons are designed to be engaging and interactive to foster sustained interest in maths.
In Year/Grade 4, we have been focusing on multiplication and division, fractions, and geometry. The current learning objectives include:
Our assessment includes regular formative assessments to evaluate your child's progress in class. We also have summative assessments at the end of each term to measure your child's performance against the learning objectives. Assessment results will be shared with you through student reports, and you are encouraged to discuss your child's progress and areas for improvement with us.
Homework is given to reinforce what has been learned in class and help students apply their knowledge outside of school. Resources such as textbooks, online tutorials and educational websites are also provided to assist with homework and extend their understanding. We also encourage you to participate in your child's learning by reviewing their homework and engaging with them in conversations about math topics.
As parents, you play a vital role in supporting and enhancing your child's maths experience. We encourage your involvement through regular communication with us, staying informed about your child's progress, ensuring completion of homework and providing regular opportunities for math games and activities. If you have any questions or concerns about your child's learning, we are always here to help.
We will now open the floor for any questions or comments you may have. Thank you for attending this meeting, and we hope to work together to guide your child to a successful experience in maths.
