Welcome back, my little musicians! Today we're going to have so much fun learning about music. Who loves music? I know I do! Do you know what music is? That's right, it's sound that's arranged in a special way to make us feel happy, sad, scared, or excited. And do you know what else? Music can help us learn and grow too.
Let's start with a little warm-up to get our minds and bodies ready for music. Everybody stand up and follow my lead.
First, we're going to tap our feet like this. (demonstrates tapping feet) Good job! Now, let's clap our hands together. (claps hands) Great! Now we're going to snap our fingers. (snaps fingers) You're doing awesome! And now, let's all sing a little song together.
(sings) "La-la-la, la-la-la, music's such a fun thing, it makes our hearts sing!"
Now that we're warmed up, let's talk about music a little more. So we know that music is sound arranged in a special way. But what kinds of sounds do we use to make music?
That's right, we can use instruments like pianos, violins, guitars, and drums to make music. But what if we don't have any instruments around? Can we still make music?
Yes, we can! We can use our own voices to sing songs, make rhythms with our hands and feet, or even use everyday objects like pots and pans to make sound.
Let's have a little fun exploring all the different sounds we can make. Here's what we're going to do: I'm going to say a sound, and you're going to make that sound too. Ready?
(sound examples)
Great job! Now let's see if we can make those sounds all together like a little choir.
Wow, you guys are incredible little musicians! I had so much fun exploring music with you. Remember, music can be found everywhere, and it's a wonderful way to express ourselves and learn new things. Until next time, keep singing, dancing, and making beautiful music!
