- Marker/Chalk and board
Procedure

Introduction (5 minutes)
- Greet the students and introduce the topic of the day, which is Plants
- Show pictures of different plants and ask the students if they know the names of any of them
- Briefly discuss why plants are important to us

Parts of a Plant (10 minutes)
- Show the Parts of a Plant handout and discuss the different parts of a plant (roots, stem, leaves, flowers, fruits)
- Explain the functions of each part of a plant (e.g. roots absorb water and nutrients, stem supports the plant, leaves make food for the plant)
- Use simple examples and illustrations to help with understanding

Activity (10 minutes)
- Give each student a picture of a plant or an actual plant specimen (if available)
- Have the students identify the different parts of the plant and label them with their corresponding functions
- Circulate around the room and provide assistance as needed

Discussion (5 minutes)
- Ask the students to share their observations and insights from the activity
- Sum up the importance of plants in our ecosystem

Conclusion (5 minutes)
- Review the different parts of a plant and their functions
- Thank the students for their participation and encourage them to learn more about plants
Assessment
Observation and participation in the activity will be the basis for assessment.
Enrichment Activity
For students who finish early, they may draw or color a picture of their favorite plant and write a short paragraph about why they like it.
